How to choose her first birthday dress
A practical guide to her size, the celebration, what is included and when to order.
A first birthday dress has a few jobs: feel comfortable while she is held or sitting, suit the celebration and arrive with time to check the fit. Start with those details, then choose the colour and shape you love.
Choose for the celebration
Think about what she will do in the dress. A full skirt can be lovely in birthday photographs; check how the length will work when she sits or moves. If you are choosing wings, a train or a large bow, look closely at the product photographs and details rather than assuming every dress includes the same accessories.

Check her size for the birthday
Use her age on the day as a starting point, then compare the product’s garment chest, waist and length with a dress that fits comfortably. The 9–12 and 12–18 month sizes are different measurements; turning one does not by itself settle the choice.
See our size chart in inches and centimetres. If her proportions fall across rows, select custom size on the dress page and follow its measuring instructions. Custom sizing has no extra service charge; the price follows the closest chart size.
Read the fabric and lining details
Tulle, organza, satin and sequins describe different parts of different dresses. Read the individual product details for the outer fabric, lining and finish. A photograph shows the look; the details tell you what is used in that dress. If a colour or finish is hard to judge on screen, ask our team. Selected dresses offer a live video call.
Check what is included
- Check the product details for a matching hairband or bow. An accessory in a photograph is not enough to establish that it is included.
- Shoes are not included.
- Read the care line on the product before ordering, especially if you plan a cake smash.
When should you order?
Babiesfrock’s made-to-order delivery estimate is 12–14 days from ordering, with free delivery across India. Allow additional time before the birthday to try the dress on and ask for help if the fit needs adjusting. Courier timings can vary, so the estimate is not a guaranteed event-date delivery.

Check fit and payment terms before buying
One free size alteration is available when requested within 3 days of delivery. Made-to-order dresses cannot be returned for a change of mind. Check the returns, alterations and cancellation policy before you order.
Cash on delivery is available. An extra 10% off is applied at checkout when you pay online. Review the payment and any advance shown at checkout.
