Start with her age on the day she will wear the dress, then check the chart on the dress page. The chart below is Babiesfrock’s standard dress chart, from newborn sizes to 5–6 years. Each product page shows which sizes that particular dress offers.
Our dress size chart
These are garment measurements. They are not a universal chart of children’s body measurements, and another brand’s age label may fit differently. The two length columns describe different dress lengths; check the style and length on the dress you choose.

How to compare her size
- Check her age for the celebration, rather than only her age today.
- Compare the garment’s chest and waist with a dress that fits her comfortably. Leave room for movement; avoid choosing a size from age alone when the measurements differ.
- Check shoulder to waist and the dress length. A below-knee dress and a full-length dress are different styles, even in the same age range.
- If the chart does not give a comfortable match, choose custom size on the product page or ask our team for help before ordering.
For her first birthday: 9–12 or 12–18 months?
Those age ranges are starting points. In our chart, 9–12 months has a 22.5-inch garment chest and 12–18 months has a 23.5-inch garment chest. Compare the full row and the dress’s length before deciding. For a child whose proportions fall across rows, custom sizing can help.

How free custom sizing works
Choose “Custom size” on the dress page and follow its measuring instructions. Enter her measurements in inches or centimetres. The site matches them to the closest chart size and uses that size’s price, with no extra charge for custom sizing. We confirm custom measurements before cutting the pattern.
Made-to-order dresses have a 2-inch internal growth margin. This is an alteration allowance inside the dress; it does not mean adding 2 inches to the measurements you enter. One free size alteration is included when requested within 3 days of delivery. Read the alteration and return terms.
